Client : ADIF
In 2000, the Spanish transport authority decided to build a new high-speed line linking Madrid to Zaragoza and the French border, thus connecting Spain to the European rail network.
Compagnie des Signaux (then Ansaldo STS) has equipped this new 460 km LGV from Madrid to Lérida with the ERTMS level 1 and 2 signalling system.
Level 2 of the ETCS system was brought into service in 2011 for AVE trains travelling at 300km/h.
