Wayside signalling

Our experts say it best

CSEE produces signalling systems based on ERTMS technology.

ERTMS is the signalling standard adoptes by all Eyuropean countries. It is used to enable trains to run safely without having to change systems at the border.

Imagine a railway line where trains run every 90 seconds thanks to cutting-edge technology. That’s what we’re achieving today with the RBC Argos system and the European rail signalling system ERTMS. By 2030, the Marseille-Ventimiglia line will be the first conventional line in France to benefit from new-generation ERTMS sol, making it a model of high-performance digitalisation of the French rail network.

Wayside signalling

The wayside signalling solution includes the following elements :

  • The SEI+ computer, installed at an interlocking station or centrally and based on the SIL4 DIVA safety platform. It ensures the safety of rail traffic. It is responsible for managing routes, securing movements, controlling signals and monitoring installations. It interfaces with the other elements of the signalling system
  • MTOR cabinets, which provide SIL4 communication with track elements and signals, via direct links, railway safety physical relays or electronic relay cards. They are installed in an interlocking station or in an interface centre.

  • Power distribution cabinets
  • The technical terminal, which monitors the installation at substation or centre level
  • RBCs (Radio Block Centres) which, at ETCS 2 level, provide supervision and communication with trains via the GSM-R network and enable Movement Authorities to be transmitted to the driver’s cab.
  • CTC (Centralized Traffic Control)
  • The CSI manages maintenance of rail signaling and repairs
